Joe was raised on a farm in Perry Michigan the second eldest of eight children. Graduated from Perry
High School and Lansing Community College. Two days after graduating from high school he received
an invitation to join Uncle Sam in Viet Nam .. Joe served in the 101st Air Borne and received the Bronze
Star and the Soldiers Medal. Joe met Marge while home on leave and they married two years later.
They have four children, Marjie, Kathy, Ron, and Joe III . And four grandchildren, Mallorie, Heather,
Holly, and Jason.
Joe, his wife and son have a kennel outside of Charlotte, Michigan.
Joe’s first interest in dogs came from helping to train hunting dogs. He became interested in Boxers
when his son brought one home. After going to a few dog shows Joe wanted to show in conformation
himself so he decided to take a class to learn. At his first class the instructor ask what he wanted the
dog to learn, Joe said “ the dog already knows show me.”
He started showing in AKC where he met several professional handlers that gave him some very helpful
tips both on showing and grooming. His instructor suggested he might like to attend a UKC show. Joe
enjoyed it so much that he has been showing in UKC ever since.
He became interested in becoming a judge and with some encouragement from others, studied and took
the test.
Joe’s interests and hobbies include designing and building ponds, landscaping and gardening, and of
course showing and raising boxers, especially spoiling the puppies.
