Winning A Championship When You Are A Senior
To win a championship takes a special dog that steps into the ring like he owns it. The dog is alert, energetic,
meets the standard and knows he is the best that day.
To win a championship when you are a ten year old senior, competing against not only dogs half your age but also
your own off spring, that dog has to be very special indeed. And that is just what Iggy did.
CH. Warzone’s I Wanna Be Like Ike ( Iggy) became a UKC Champion at the grand ole age of ten, under Judge
Joseph Camp at the Michigan Classic in March of 2008.
Iggy was bred and is owned by Ron Gubry, born October 16, 1998 (Sire: Trickers Black Legacy - Dam: Di Dio's
Murbe Warzones). He got his name because as a puppy he would follow and do everything another Boxer named
Ike would do.
Iggy’s favorite pastimes are stealing the blankets from the other boxers, trying to catch birds flying over, chasing
the birds out of the yard, and barking at that pesky squirrel that gets in the tree. His favorite toy is a basketball.
From the time Iggy first stepped into the show ring, we knew he was meant to become a champion.
Iggy began competing in AKC and has won several Reserve Wins there and was well on his way to becoming a
AKC champion. But due to some finance problems his show career was put on hold.
At Iggy’s first UKC show he took 8 top ten points and won Best of Breed at the age of 8. His second show was at
the Premier last June where he won his class. At the Great Lakes Boxer Club's 1st Annual Boxer Specialty, Iggy
won best stud dog. The 2008 Michigan Classic, he won his championship.
Iggy has sired four great litters of puppies including UKC GR Champion Meg’s-Murbe’s Nite Magic (Tina),
Champion Meg’s-Murbe’s Dakota Spirit (Cooper), Meg’s-Murbe’s Summer Storm (Bobbie), (needs one point for
champion), Meg’s-Murbe’s Dakota Maverick (Rusty) (just starting), and three wonderful puppies born March 28,
2008.
