June 07, 2008 - Top Ten has been updated. The Premier is almost upon us, everyone is
getting ready for our Specialty, and we're all buzzing around trying to tie up loose ends. We
could not be more proud of our hard working members. Without them, none of this would be
possible!
June 17, 2008 - We did it! Another successful year under our belt for our Annual Boxer
Specialty! We held our annual meeting after the specialty and the dinner. Members in
attendance were: Joe Gubry, Marge Gubry, Ron Gubry, Tina Reed, Morgan Reed, Chris
Fleisher, Gabby Fleisher (representing our Junior Members), Dan Giovinazzi, Steve Quinn,
Mary Quinn, Rebecca Kunz, Joe Camp, and Tina Camp. President Joe Gubry opened the
meeting. Tina Reed gave a Secretary Report. Morgan Reed gave a Treasurer Report.
President Joe Gubry opened up the floor for new business.
- It was voted and approved that we will hold judge nominations for our 3rd Annual
Boxer Specialty via internet poll.
- It was voted and approved that we will conduct an internet poll to increase our
Specialty entry fees (both pre-entry and day of show).
- It was voted and approved that Chris Fleisher will hold the Chair for our
Trophy Committee for an indefinite term.
- Steve Quinn volunteered to donate hand made wood trophies for our 3rd Annual Boxer
Specialty.
- President, Joe Gubry, brought up the suggestion for an Ethics Committee. This topic
will be discussed via internet.
- It was voted and approved that we will hold an additional 2009 Specialty. Our two
options are in Dunlap, IL (Illinois Toy Fox Terrier Assoc. and Mid-Lakes Australian
Shepherd Club will sponsor) and Illowa, IL (Illowa Kennel Club will sponsor). Further
discussion on this topic will be via internet.
- It was voted and approved that Ron Gubry will Chair a Health Clinic for the 2009
Premier.
Our Health and Education table was successful thanks to Marge Gubry and Joe Gubry! The
Boxers were well represented.
June 18, 2008 - Pre-entry for our July Specialty close July 7. Get your entries in before the
closing date to $ave! Our Large Item Raffle is coming along nicely. A donation of $5 could
net you a whole lot of loot! We are still taking donations for our Raffle and trophies.
June 20, 2008 - The Great Lakes Boxer Club would like to welcome the following new
members: Michelle Chevrier of Wilson, NY, Sharyn Chevrier of Wilson, NY, Nicole Phillips of
Norwalk, OH, Taylor Phillips (another Junior Member) of Norwalk, OH, and Tom Phillips of
Norwalk, OH! The Top Ten Standings have been updated - take a look!
June 23, 2008 - Candid photographs of our 2nd Annual Boxer Specialty, Annual Meeting, and
Specialty Dinner have been uploaded.
June 25, 2008 - Michelle and Chevrier had graciously offered awards/trophies for the July
specialty for the following classes: Best Male, Best Female, Best Of Winners, and Best Of
Breed! The trophies for the July Specialty are awesome!
June 26, 2008 - Pre-entry for our July Specialty is closing in fast - we've got some great
trophies. Don't forget to pre-enter the FLADEA shows too! That will make 5 shows for
Boxers in 1 weekend! FLAEDA is also offering a Chicken BBQ on Saturday night - by
reservations only. Hopefully, when everyone sees our Large Item Raffle, we wont have too
much trouble selling tickets.
